St. Joan of Arc Secondary School pursues the best practice in teaching and learning among our staffs and students. eLearning, is one of them. We are proud to be appointed as "Centre of Excellence" by Education Bureau in School year 2016-17 and 2017-18. This centre is responsible to promote eLearning and to equip Hong Kong teachers with e-Pedagogy. The followings are just few examples of how we introduced eLearning in our class to enhance learning effectiveness.

Cloud Platform​

We are now using Google Classroom, Moodle and Nearpod as Cloud platforms which facilitate student-teacher connection. Students can gain access to more online learning resources and reach their teachers. Teachers can instantly give feedback to students. By better understanding of students' learning progress, teachers can adjust the pace of teaching on the spot.

Mobile Learning

Integrated Science Field Trip at Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens

Our students can now have a more effective and interesting field Trip!  Students can make use of the camera in mobile device to take pictures, collect field trip data and submit a short report to teacher on Google classroom platform with associated tools (Google forms) through wireless network. Teachers on the other hand can assess students' working progress and provide support in realtime.

Geography Field Trip at Wan Chai

We are now using EduVenture eXplorer, developed by Centre for Learning Sciences and Technologies, the Chinese University of Hong Kong in order to let our students to download course materials to the App, with global positioning system (GPS), to carry out field trip in different areas of Wan Chai and answer field related questions. Answers are store in the App. With this app, students can experience first-hand contact with real-world situations and have a distinctive outdoor mobile learning experience.
