  1. To develop a school-based curriculum in junior forms in the hope of helping students to build a firm foundation in language proficiency.
  2. To promote quality learning through formative and summative assessment and informal feedback from peers and teachers.
  3. To strengthen teachers¡¦ collaboration in the form of co-planning, sharing of teaching strategies and resources with a view to improving the quality of teaching and learning of English Language.
  4. To enhance teachers¡¦ professional development for the improvement of the teaching and learning of English Language.
  5. To explore and implement the elective part of the new Senior Secondary English Language Curriculum in junior forms with reference to the interests, needs and abilities of our students.
  6. To implement the strategic action plan with a view to improving the English environment conductive to English language learning.

  1. Task-based, theme-based and integrated-skills based approach will be adopted in all levels.
  2. Students¡¦ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills will be developed in all levels.
  3. Language Arts and School based Assessment will be implemented.
  4. There will be a variety of English activities organized by the English Department and English Society with the collaboration of the school to maximize students¡¦ exposure to English.
  5. With the funding from the English Enhancement Scheme, a public speaking training programme will be provided to students to equip them with the skills in public speaking. It can also help boost their confidence in speaking English and thus help organize English activities for other students.
  6. There are internal activities including English morning assemblies, English Cafe, English Speaking Days, English Society, English Ambassadors Scheme, Broadcasting of English programme, English song dedications, Book Club, Movie Club and English Week.
  7. Inter-class form-based activities will be arranged during the common lessons of the form to stimulate students¡¦ interest in learning English and enhance their language skills.
  8. Students are encouraged to conduct self-evaluation and peer-evaluation in both writing and speaking to help indicate learners¡¦ strengths and weaknesses so that they can make improvement in learning.
