25-30 October

  1. 25 October – Inauguration of Catholic Society Committee
During inauguration of the CSC, Principal Yuen presented badges to the committee members. From now onwards, they will fulfill their responsibilities as tools of God, to serve the school with integrity and humility.
  2. 25 October – Blessing Ceremony for SJA Mosaic Wall of The Baptism of Jesus
SJA proudly presents S.2 FA student, Sumang Aile Ronrech D., who won the Religious Artwork Competition.  She used an i-Pad to draw the image of the Holy Spirit descending upon Jesus on His baptism.  The school transformed her artwork into a magnificent mosaic wall.
We are privileged to have Rev. Fr. Ngai to bless the mural.  He reminded us that God sent His own beloved Son to us, to open the door of the Kingdom of God and to give us the blessing of life in the presence of the Holy Spirit.
  3. 27 October – Dress Casual Day
About 75% of our students took part in the Dress Casual Day held on 27 October. All proceeds were donated to Caritas for charitable purposes.
    Other forms of Charity Work:
Everyone in the SJA community was engaged in charity work during the Dress Casual Day. Rosary bracelets were made by the S2s during their RS lessons while cookies were baked in their Cookery lessons.  Pudding and dried floral accessories  were made by Office Staff and teachers respectively.
  4. 27 October – Stall Games, Bazaar and Live Band Show to raise fund for Caritas.
Stall Games especially designed for S1-S2 students were held by S3 students. Students from other levels were also welcomed to participate. The student-teacher live band performance was welcomed with a loud applause, giving the event a warm and harmonious atmosphere despite the mild drizzle that day.
  5. Subscription of Caritas Raffle Tickets
Caritas Raffle Tickets subscribed with enthusiasm among students.
  6. Quiz on reading religious e-book
To arouse students’ interest in reading religious materials, a religious e-book competition was organized in collaboration with the SJA library. A short online quiz was designed to help students consolidate what they have learnt from their reading.
  7. 30 October – Joint School Catholic Society Meet-up
Student representatives from the Catholic Society of various schools had a gathering at St. Stephen’s Church on 30 October. Four SJA students participated in the event. They received precious and positive feedback from the meaningful experience.
