As a token of gratitude to be part of SJA, a series of activities were organized in December, 2021. The thanksgiving activities of “Grateful to be in SJA” was designed by Department of Ethics and Religious Education. It was divided into three parts:
1. Grateful to be in SJA
Students received a candy attached onto a card. They could taste the sweetness of the candy and reflect how blessed they were to be able to study in SJA . They enjoy using campus facilities to become a real St. Joanian.
2. Grateful to people in SJA
Students gave thanks to everyone who accompanied them to grow up in SJA including teachers, schoolmates, classmates, supporting staff, … Through respecting teachers, getting along well with classmates, schoolmates, making good use of school facilities and caring for public properties, everyone felt happy and grateful.
In order to facilitate this activity, the Chinese Department co-operated with Ethics and Religious Education Department to arrange non-Chinese speaking students to write gratitude cards during their Chinese lessons to help them communicate with Chinese teachers and students.
3. Grateful for God being with us in SJA
Being grateful to study in SJA in God’s presence. The main essence of gratitude lies with the awareness of the birth of Christ, which could only happen with the help of our Holy Mother Mary unconditionally.
On 21st December, we were honoured to invite Rev. Fr. Joseph Cai to light the fourth Advent candle and to host the Christmas Thanksgiving Bible Service. This was followed by the Blessing Ceremony of our newly renovated school library.
In addition, the Student Union, the S6 students, the Junior School Drama Club and Catholic Society worked in collaboration to stage. “The fourth Wise Man” brought the highlight of our Christmas teaching us to cherish, care and help everyone in need.
