The feast day of our patron, St. Joan of Arc, was celebrated on 30 May, 2022. After the weekly flag-raising ceremony, students of Secondary 1, 2 and 5 attended the Feast Day Mass Celebration in the school hall , while Secondary 3 and 4 stayed in their classroom to watch the live broadcast. The happy atmosphere was further boosted with the visit of 6 alumni students together with the active participation of our supervisors, IMC members, and parent representatives.
Rev. Father Moses Ngai, one of our school supervisors, was the officiant of the patron’s feast day. He reminded us to follow the example of Joan of Arc who fulfilled the civic responsibility to pursue peace, and to inspire her citizens and enemies with love. The reading from the Acts of the Apostles 19:1-8 mentioned that the twelve apostles gave everyone a good reflection about the sacred number of 12 in Christianity. As witnesses, the twelve apostles developed a new attitude towards life for those people around them, and the new dynamic groups also gave them further blessings. The twelve apostles reminded us of the twelve tribes of the Old Testament. After six years of cultivation and training, it is hoped that students could contribute to their living communities and be responsible and inspiring to all. Since Jesus has conquered all, we can enjoy true peace and joy as long as we follow Jesus as an example and live according to His words.
During the mass offertory, the five core values of Catholic Education were presented in the form of photo offering. The School Supervisor, Principal and five student representatives presented the Lent Photo-taking Contest photos to the altar to proclaim the virtues of Truth, Justice, Charity, Life and Family.
