Our S4 and S5 NCS students recently visited the Government Flying Service Department (GFS) headquarters to explore the aviation sector. They toured the hangar and learned about various operational disciplines, from search and rescue to aircraft engineering. This inspiring visit broadened their horizons and provided valuable insights into future career paths in the aviation industry and disciplined services.

In celebration of our school’s "Biliteracy and Trilingualism Week," teachers and F.2 students visited the Ko Shan Theatre to enjoy the classic Cantonese Opera excerpt "Stopping the Horse," presented by The Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong. Immersed in a professional theatrical setting, students observed the dynamic artistry of the performers up close, witnessing the traditional four skills of "singing, acting, reciting, and acrobatics." Within this cross-cultural atmosphere, students not only experienced the unique charm of Lingnan arts firsthand but also—while appreciating this national heritage—gained a profound understanding of the rhythmic beauty of operatic language and the enduring spirit of Chinese culture.

2026-01-2170th-anniversary Information Day and Variety Show
December 6, 2025 and January 3, 2025 were the big days for our school's 70th-anniversary Information Day and Variety Show. Many parents, alumni, and students came to the school to participate, making the event exceptionally lively, and the Variety Show was brilliant, it showed different talents of students and teachers. After listening to Principal Yuen's S 1 admission talk, the guests visited various special rooms and took part in small games. Finally, they exchanged for small souvenirs as mementos. Together, everyone spent a memorable and unforgettable time.
2026-01-17Hong Kong Catholic Diocese Primary School I District Catholic Life Activity - "Messengers of Hope"
On January 17, our school's principal, along with 11 teachers and students, participated in the "Messengers of Hope" event at the Catholic Diocese Primary School I District. As mentors, our Joanians led primary school students in an orienteering challenge. Through the "Light of Hope Prayer Service," both secondary and primary students gained a deeper understanding of the spirit of Christ.

Confidence and communication skills were on full display when our students visited Aberdeen St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School. On 13 January 2026, they shared their expertise in learning English with primary pupils, following the Principal's introductory talk. This mentoring experience allowed our students to practice leadership and articulate their knowledge in a real-world setting, creating a fun and meaningful learning exchange for both age groups.

On January 8, 2025, our school hosted 50 education executives from the "Red Triangle Education Management Seminar," organized by the Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation. The guests visited various activity rooms, observed lessons, and enjoyed student performances, fostering meaningful educational exchange between the two regions.
2026-01-02Hoi Ha Wan - Oceanographer
On January 2, 2026, biology students from S5 participated in the " Oceanographer " activity at Hoi Ha Wan, aimed at understanding how human activities impact marine biodiversity. The students learned to measure seawater and atmospheric parameters and observed plankton and corals. During the glass-bottom boat tour, they experienced the diversity of marine ecosystems. The activity also emphasized marine ecological security, which involves maintaining the stability and self-repairing capacity of ecosystems. Through this activity, students recognized the importance of marine conservation, enhanced their sense of responsibility, and were encouraged to become informed global citizens while deepening their understanding of their interests and future goals.

The first activity of the Interact Club of our school was held on November 21, visiting the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital Eastern Medical Center. Guided by medical staff from various departments, students gained a deeper understanding of the work of hospitals and healthcare professionals, as well as a better grasp of the current needs of Hong Kong's healthcare system which helped to broaden their horizons for their future career.

2025-11-15Making scented candles and personal perfumes workshop
Eighteen students from our school participated in a workshop on making scented candles and personal perfumes. The students learned about the base notes and classifications of different essential oils, and then blended their own formulas according to their preferences to create unique personal perfumes and scented candles, in preparation for the February market marketing event.
2025-11-14All Souls’ Day Mass
Every November, the school held a memorial service for deceased faculty and alumni, reminding believers of Christ's promise: death is not an end but a threshold to eternal life. Father Wan emphasized the importance of making moral choices during life, as there will be judgment after death. He calls for prayers for the souls in purgatory, so they may be released from purgatory and enjoy the blessings of eternal life.

On 14 November 2025, our Career Planning Team invited a representative from the Admissions Office of Huaqiao University to give a talk to selected S6 students. The session provided detailed information about the university’s academic programmes, institutional features, and the application. Students actively asked questions, and the event proved highly informative in supporting their future study planning.
