Rationale and Principles of Gifted Education Policy at School

The school-based gifted education policy is in accordance with gifted education guidelines given by EDB. The mission of gifted education is to fully explore and develop the potentials of gifted students systematically and strategically by providing them with opportunities to receive education at appropriate levels in a flexible teaching and learning environment

To cater to the education needs of gifted students, the school complies with the following principles:

  • To set the development of multiple intelligence as one of the school missions;
  • To adopt a broad definition using multiple intelligences;
  • To focus on exploring students’ thinking and creativity abilities, social skills and individual potentials;
  • To provide sequential and multiple educational activities;
  • To compile resources collected from education parties/bodies as support to the school

Implementation of Gifted Education at School

The school adopts the “Three-Tier implementation Model” to plan and implement the school-based gifted education. The core elements advocated in gifted education, i.e. higher-order thinking skills, creativity and personal-social competence are immersed in whole-school curriculum planning of Level 1 and 2.

Assessed and selected by educational psychologist or Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education

  • Providing the exceptionally gifted students with learning opportunities in the form of specialist training outside the school setting.
  • Providing special arrangement e.g. speed learning programmes, grade skipping, etc. within the school setting.
