Unit 6: Words used in a debate speech

1. Phil is on the affirmative learn. He hopes that the audience will support the motion.

2. The team presented strong arguments in their speech.

3. You should always give lots of examples to support your arguments when you give a debate speech.

4. The motion of this debate is that students should be allowed to wear make-up at school.

5. Neil is on the negative team. He hopes the audience will be against the motion.

6. Both teams in the debate will have an opportunity for rebuttal. They can try to argue against what the other team has said.

7. You should always try to support your arguments with facts, statistics and examples.

8. Megan is a member of the opposition. She is against the motion.

9. Veronica is a member of the propostiion. She is for the motion.
