'Birds of the same feather flock together!" Four students from S1, 2 and 4 had their momentous once-in-a-lifetime experience right after the final exams. Practically, they only had 4 two-hour rehearsals before they went onstage on 8th July 2023, representing SJA in the HK Catholic Diocesan English Talent Show 2023, held at the Lai King Catholic Secondary School.

Music has no boundaries. It had been a very warm afternoon where mutual support from all participants could be felt everywhere, notwithstanding it's a competition among 23 competing schools. The true spirit of God's love shone glamorously, with students in the backstage cheering for one another, while teachers were giving guidance to fellow participants during the technical rundown.

Bruce and Wynn were both the vocalists and guitarists, while Kirbee played his cajon, joined by the female voice of Ciarra, who also played the ukulele. To the surprise of the adjudicators and the audience, the young quartet sang an original song composed by Wynn, "Laser Beam', with such charismatic stage presence and harmony that was totally unbelievable.

With God's grace and the students' strong comradery, they came second in the event. This has been a very encouraging experience for our teammates because they learned the importance of having true St. Joanian spirit, striving for excellence with genuine humility. It all went off like a Laser Beam, but the music will go on!
