On Friday afternoons in March after lunch, the officers of the Catholic Society led and presided over the Way of the Cross devotion in Transfiguration Chapel and on the school playground. The Way of the Cross (also called the Stations of the Cross) is a devotional practice in which the faithful imitate Jesus carrying his cross to Calvary; it is primarily used to meditate on Christ’s Passion and to emulate his charity. This week’s devotion had catechumen, WANG TSZ CHEUNG of 3CH, carry the cross, while altar servers took turns holding candles, reading scripture, and guiding the students in reflection.
This year the school installed fourteen new Stations of the Cross on the playground’s pillars; during ERS lessons, teachers will also lead students in outdoor Way of the Cross devotions around the campus.
