The 70th Anniversary SJA Walkathon 2024-2025 was held successfully on Friday, January 24, 2025. This year marks the 33rd walkathon in the history and tradition of the school. The slogan—“Gratitude in 70 Years, Forging a Path to a Promising Future”—encapsulates the long-held tradition of St. Joanians, which is to endeavor to take up our civic responsibility as a community in a spirit of love and faith. All proceeds will go to the SJA Fund, which continues to be used to provide better school facilities and learning programs related to co-curricular activities, ensuring students have an excellent and vibrant school life.
We were honored to have the Chairperson of the Parent Teacher Association, Ms. F. R. Guan; the Sponsoring Body Manager, Ms. M. Y. Choy; the Vice President of the St. Joan of Arc School Past Students’ Association and Alumni Manager, Mr. Wilson Lee; the Independent Manager, Mr. H. W. Tan; the Principal, Mr. C. O. Yuen; together with the Chairperson of the Student Union and Chairperson of the Walkathon Committee, Raeka Sherchan, kick off the walkathon at the opening ceremony, which started at 9:30 a.m. We were extremely blessed to have so many teachers, students, parents, and alumni participate in the event. Without the help of the police, uniformed groups, and prefects, the walkathon would not have run so smoothly.
At the finishing point in the school playground, snacks and drinks were provided for the participants. The Dance Society organized a random dance activity for all students. A special, memorable keychain commemorating the 70th Anniversary SJA Walkathon 2024-2025 was given to all finishers in this year’s walkathon.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who played a role in making the 70th Anniversary SJA Walkathon 2024-2025 a great success.
