The Hong Kong Science Fair (HKSF), organised by the Hong Kong Innovation Foundation, is dedicated to providing an interactive platform for students to tackle community challenges. Through a competition format, students are encouraged to use science and creativity to solve various challenges in daily life. Guided by the mission of ‘Think Big Be Innovative’, the exhibition aims to inspire students to address everyday challenges through innovative and human-centric approaches.

Two teams from our school successfully made it to the finals among numerous participating teams. During the Hong Kong Science Fair held on June 27-28 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, they showcased their creative inventions alongside 120 other teams of primary and secondary school students. Among them, the " Oil2Fuel" design team stood out and proudly won the Bronze Award in the junior secondary division.

Oil2Fuel

“Oil2Fuel” is an innovative biofuel made from waste cooking oil, ethanol, and sodium hydroxide through a catalytic process. It converts used oil into a stable heat source, with each gram burning for about 48 seconds, offering a practical solution to waste oil disposal while delivering environmental and economic benefits through a circular, waste-to-energy approach.
